• Travel Websites:
    • Skyscanner is a global metasearch engine for information on the World Wide Web that enables people to find comparisons for flights, hotels and car hire. My first go-to place where I go before I book flights.
    • Couchsurfing is a hospitality service and social networking website. The website provides a platform for members to “surf” on couches by staying as a guest at a host’s home, host travelers, meet other members or join an event.
    • Hostelworld– stay in a hostel and meet the real world, not the tourist brochure. Read millions of hostel reviews from fellow travelers & book your next adventure.
    • Blablacar is the world’s largest long-distance ridesharing community. It connects drivers and passengers willing to travel together between cities and share the cost of the journey.
    • Airbnb is a peer-to-peer online marketplace and homestay network enabling people to list or rent short-term lodging in residential properties, with the cost of such accommodation set by the property owner.
    • Volunteering – Workaway is an international organization that enables travelers willing to work as volunteers to contact hosts wanting help with their projects or activities. Volunteers or ‘Workawayers’, are expected to contribute a pre-agreed amount of time per day in exchange for lodging and food provided by their host.
    • Travel Insurance- first check with your banking provider and credit card company. World Nomads are an alternative option I recommend.
